I don't know much about the sand, but a good start would be to look at the ingredients or whatever. Check to see if anything was added such as fertilizer and stuff like that.

...Really? Usually they always tell you somewhere on the package...

I use Pool filter sand. It's about $10 for 50 lbs. And you can get it at a pool supply store.

It's probably fine but a simple test is to take a cup of vinegar, add a little sand to it, and if it fizzes don't use the sand for your acid loving plants.

I think others have posted photos of that type of sand in the past and the general consensus is that it isn't safe to use.

Same a Lyra, pool sand work for me too.

I have not used it yet but the description says its silica sand. Ill do the vinegar test. Has anyone else bought this?

Looks like the same silica sand we use, so I'd guess that it is probably fine.
