I'm a noob at importing and other stuff like that. Can anyone get an import permit and import plants listed as appendix 1 in cites?

Yes. It’s simple paperwork but you must have a good reason for CITES 1 plants. It must benefit the plant I believe so “conservation through cultivation.” Lord Aphis is the one who approves the permits.

where can I find Lord Aphis? is he here on flytrap forums? I searched up his name and got no results.

@evenwind, with the import permits, is it possible to import plants under appendix 1? such as N. rajah? also what about phytosanitary certificates? I've heard that you need a whole other permit to import species listed under cites. Also is the $70 import permit good for only one use?

It’s worth noting that Wistuba handles all the permits anyways and you don’t need to get them. However he will not ship CITES 1 plants

Yep, that's why I'm trying to get an import permit . do CITES 1 plants need a special permit?

APHIS reusable permit costs 70 bucks for 2 years of importing CITES I plants.

You also need to register with form 578 and 562 CFR, to import plants, and to import cites plants, respectively.
The plants will also need to be registered with the Fish and Wildlife service on arrival.

Hungry carnivores, I don’t see those permits on aphis. 621 and 587 are the correct permits - 621 covers CITES plants and 587 is general plant importation

May I ask which species in particular you are interested in importing and why?
