Corkscrew plants are easy to grow in most cases and G.hispidula is one of the easiest in the genus. Use pure LFS or the standard "CP mix" with 2 parts peat one part sand, but I find LFS better because it's easy to overwater them when they grow in peat mixes. That's the way I grow my specimens of G.hispidula:

Substrate: Pure LFS
Watering: Tray method, sits constantly in water
Temperatures: 28-30 degrees Celsius during the day and 20-25 at night
Humidity: >90%
Light: Southern windowsill and an additional 13W T5 fixture during winter
