Hello everyone, I bought this nepenthes plant about 2 weeks ago, and the Tendrils with pitcher growth points are turning brown. Even the new leaves have this. It could still be acclimating as it's the plants 3rd week here, but I don't know for sure. According to the Little Pot Of Horrors website, it's a nepenthes alata. I have been spraying it, it has a grow light and is by the window, and I have been watering it. I don't know if this is normal or if I am doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The tendrils are normally brown on the end as they grow. If they are brown and dried out, they you are lacking humidity. Personally, I mist mine with a very fine mister. There are others who say never to do that, so take it with a grain of salt.

^^^^ What he said.
But, also, you said it's less than three weeks at your location, so it's going to stall. Depending on how it got to you it could take weeks to months to stop pouting and resume growing pitchers.

It's a Nepenthes x ventrata. Hardiest hybrid around, commonly sold as alata. And it looks perfectly fine, it just needs time to adjust. I had a Nepenthes that did nothing but lose leaves for months before beginning to grow. Plants hate moving house just as much as people do.

Okay, thank you. I bought it at a local Steins so it did not ship to my house. I know it will take time to adjust and or pitcher.

I know this isn't really related but my nepenthes also has brown spots on it, but I think it might be nectar that caused mold because new leaves don't have them. Any thoughts?

What's your watering frequency? My Ventratas got reddish-brown spots on the leaves when I was overwatering. Once I dialed in the watering schedule they cleared up.
