Hi,
I keep wiping black bits off my windowsill, it doesnt look like living things... The only thing it looks like is some of the traps / leaves seem to be decomposing?

Please see the photos and let me know if it looks like something is eating my plants or are they just decomposing naturally?
Actually the thing is on one or two of the traps, they are new big traps and they seem to be dying after catching just one thing

By those holes, I think something is eating your plant. Look close to see if anything is living in the pot. If not, move the plant elsewhere. Clean the counter and see what happens.

Those are definitely bug turds. The question is what type of bug and when is it eating your plant?

Yep that's bug poop (also known as frass) from something chewing on the plant.

Definitely a house fly. I get those on my indoor VFTs all the time, I just scratch them off.

The plant has been on my window all year and has seemed to thrive, however it is only recently that i noticed the black bits (and the decomposing traps)
I have been feeding it some pretty big flies and a few worms.
I've also had a good look around the soil and under the leaves but cannot see anything, any idea how i could find out what type of bug is eating my plant or how to get rid of it?

You could always stick some sticky traps around it, overlapping, to see what it is. Or if you're confident, stick the pot on one so it's completely surrounded. I use terro as my only choice for anything bug. That might tell us.

Thing is, Im working from home and the plant is right here next to me, i honestly think i'd see something crawling near it.
Also there is never any flies in the room, because if there are i catch them and put them in a trap

When you say worms, do you mean earthworms, or insect larvae of some sort?

also as a side question
All the traps which are starting to go black/decompossing/been eaten - do i cut them off at the bottom where they come out of the soil or leave them for a bit until they go completely black and shrivel up?

like others have said, it's certainly bug poop, maybe a catapiller.

If any of it is green or yellow, let it be. If you want to trim the black part back to the green, that is fine.
