It's pretty normal to see leaves turning black after repotting even on the healthiest of plants.
The white part you're seeing is the rhyzome (or bulb). Usually if that's a good size the plant has a good chance of surviving. Roots are typically black and stringy and grow off the bottom of the rhyzome.
