My poor sarracenia Althea has been through a lot. She was at a local nursery who had over watered her after under watering her and didn't know she was dormant. They thought she was dying so they sold her to me 75% off. I played their game and acted like I didn't think she would make it... :o

hehe so I brought her home and my cat chomped on her leaves while i was at work ;__; I was SO mad but I found a safer place for her and she's finally exhibiting some beautiful, slow new growth. I've never seen her pitchers but I'm so excited as her coloring is magnificent.
See the pretty red and green!

I've definitely been babying her since her troubled past.. I have a tendency to tear up when I finally see new growth in struggling plants. It's almost like when the grinch's heart swells 3 times the size!

No problem, if it is indoors unless you have temperatures from 0-10C it probably will grow. Looking at Oregon average temperatures it should be able to over winter outside, however if it is growing and as it has had a stressful recent past we don't want to stress it too much more by putting it into a cold outside world without acclamation, so I I would tend to let it continue to do what it is doing and have a proper dormancy next year. If it isn't too weak it should be OK.

Cheers

There has been some frost and snow lately, so I won't put her outside yet.
Shes absolutely had a rough start so shes going to be babied. Definitely for the spring she and my cobra lilies will be going outside though. The cobras are being really finicky even with the warm spot they're in. I figure they'll start growing again after this cold is over.
