That looks like a much less than ideal setup. Just sow them on the surface of the media, keep the media moist, and put it in the sun.
As to pics...
1. Take a picture.
2. Start a reply.
3. Scroll down, below the message box, and click this... 4. Then click this... 5. Choose the pic.
6. After it uploads, click this...

For starting seeds use peat/perlite 50/50. Then put a 1/8 inch layer of finely chopped sphagnum on top of that. Put the whole pot in a sealed plastic bag.
