Some eggs hatched near my vft the other day and three babies managed to drift over to my plants. I hope they don’t get eaten. They’re too cute!

Cute indeed! I found a couple of oothecae on my Sarracenia last year and also ordered a few off eBay and am still waiting for them to hatch. I hope to have babies sometime soon though!!

They hatched about 30 feet away from my plants on our wall above our garden hose. My husband and I spent awhile relocating about 100 babies to trees and shrubs closer to the woods behind our yard and far away from my vft. These guys must have drifted onto the flytraps. I’ve found 5 so far. I’m just going to leave them be. They are very fast and jumpy for such teeny things. They seem to like hanging under the traps and I don’t want to accidentally chase them into a trap. I did that the other day when I tried to rescue a hover fly.

This big guy showed up yesterday. I hope it’s a pregnant female. It caught itself a wasp yesterday, but the bugs have been scarce since the weather cooled down. I fed it a stink bug and my husband gave it another wasp.
