Ahh well the 2 stores near me as well as Dobbies garden centre didn seem to have em either, I always keep an eye out when visiting any garden centres but no-one seems to sell them for some reason.

The normal-sized B&Q near me doesn't sell VFTs but the huge one at Hermiston Gait in Edinburgh sells a nice little selection of VFTs, Sarracenia and Nepenthes (in 2011 anyway)

Would you not be better if buying dionaea from a fellow grower instead of a plant that has been poorly treated by B&Q?

B and Q do sell them but they generally murder them as fast as the shipments arrive.

You would get a much stronger plant, that has been cared for properly, from UK nursery online or from the UK slaes section of this site or the CPUK forum

My local homebase sells loads of well cared for vft. All of the traps are deep red and the soil is moist. The last time I gone to B&Q the plants are dried up and dead :( .

Here are some reputable UK online nurseries: http://www.littleshopofhorrors.co.uk/ - Little Shop of Horrors/Southwest Carnivorous Plants is a store based in Devon that sells a wide range of vfts. They are said to be good but I have no personal experience.

http://www.hantsflytrap.com/index.asp - Hampshire Carnivorous Plants is an online shop that specializes in neps. Their plants arrive in good condition and shape.

I've used Little Shop of Horrors and Triffid Nurseries and they're both excellent CP growers which I would heartily recommend.

I got to admit their service is really good. I recently ordered from them a n. boschiana seedling ( http://www.hantsflytrap.com/nmc090-nepe ... -275-p.asp ) and expected something that is 4-5 cm. When it arrived, it came as a medium sized plant which is 15 cm. It is also well cared for with an abundance of pitchers :D .
