Hi

i am after a new greenhouse but should i go for glass or polycarbonate
myspace is at a premium, i could only install 4x2 small greenhouse
my sarracenia collection is around 18 mature plants
over the past 6 years there have been housed in a hexagonal poly greenhouse
but lately i can not obtain new poly replacement cover
my plants have thrived in the old greenhouse
is a polycarbonate greenhouses warmer than glass
also will plant growth slow down due to the polycarbonate not been as transparent as glass

any inform would be appreciated

A twin skinned poly carbonate is slightly warmer than glass, although on a cold winters night the temperatures will be much the same.
I have a polycarbonate greenhouse with Sarracenia in and they grow perfectly well. As you suggest it isn't as bright inside as a glass house but it seems perfectly adequate and doesn't stop the Sarracenia[i] colouring up nicely.
If you are in the UK as you seem to be, you can always over winter them in the greenhouse, get the early start that the protection and warmth of the greenhouse gives, then as I do, put a lot of them outside and fill the green house with chillies and tomatoes.

Cheers
