Never expected this to be where it was, 5 foot in the air.

Cool, is it venomous? The only snakes I've ever seen are rattle and garter snakes.

I’m not sure what it was, but I just like to be cautious with things. My message is always look before approaching, because next time it could be a venomous snake (or other danger).

Damn I guess they do enjoy those moisturizing pitchers! In setting up 90 gallon tank for my boa and been thinking about adding neps. Kinda glad you found this cool ( not so if venomous) discovery.

Yep, it could be a black racer, too. They are definitely some cool snakes. I've just never seen much more of them than a blur!!! Those are exceedingly fast!!!! :o

Cool how it navigated up on the edge of the boards! :D

I had a rat snake get past a stovepipe predator guard and up an 18' tall pole to a purple martin gourd rack once. The martins let me know something was going on.

I wonder why your snake was there. I mean, most critters have a reason for what they do. I wonder if it had seen birds light on the fence and thought "Hey! I could pretend to be the edge of the fence and my breakfast could land on me!".
