Hi everyone. So far I only have two carnivirous plants, a flytrap and purple pitcher, both of which I got at a hardware store and are all doing fine so far. My husband loves sundews and I have been trying to find one to no avail. I would need some advice first because I am a complete newbie at this.

1. Where can I find a healthy sundew?
2. I know theres a lot of sundew types so I am looking for a plant that can deal with South Florida weather. Its very hot, humid and the sun is intense over here. My flytrap and pitcher are doing very well on my patio table and I planned on placing the sundew on the same table.
3. Do sundews have the same care requirements as the pitchers and flytraps as far as water and potting medium?
4. How large can a sundew become?

Thank you!

1:- http://www.flytrapcare.com/store (section "other plants")
2:- Try out a Drosera Capensis for starters, that should give you no problem.
3:- Generally yes, i find they like it a little more wet compost.
4:- Most are no larger than a VFT will grow, apart from the Binatas which can grow quite bushy.

I would try out with the south african sundews first. They are all
really easy to grow and almost all of them wrap around their prey.
I would recomend aliciae, capensis, slackii, and venusta. Capensis's
are ver easy to find online so that shouldnt be a problem.
If you look for sundews at lowes there will only be drosera adelae.
It does not deal with intense heat very well so if you are to get it
keep it in a cool windowsill or a window thats well air conditioned.

Buzz kill. My girlfriend and I were talking about how we have lived here for years and never seen a wild one. Atleast not that we can remember.
