I used to work in a building at 30 West Broadway, NYC. I started there in 1970 and left in 1979. When I first got there they were starting to dig the foundation pit for the WTC, 3 blocks away. Over the years, we had a clear view of the construction until it got too high to view from our 10th floor offices. I haven't been back there since but I got a bit nostalgic a few days ago and looked for pics of the area. This is what I found for 30 West Broadway - I didn't realize that the building was part of the general devastation. I think I was happier not knowing.
