I bought these two Nepenthe 3 months ago. I now realize I cannot provide them the environment that they need to thrive. If anyone is interested in a trade I would like any type of vft...and if it were a red variety that would be even nicer...thanks

Those are likely Nepenthes ventrata. They are very easy. Unless you'd just rather have flytraps, they are easy growers. Pretty much the same care as flytraps, minus the dormancy. They can handle partial shade to full sun.

Hollyhock I would do a bigger trade for those neps. Ask for more than one fly trap. Maybe a few flytraps or a couple plants. Nice Neps though.

I was most concerned about the humidity required for the plant to generate new pitchers...http://www.nepenthesisland.com/nepenthes-care/ article mentions plant may just be boring without pitchers. I didn't think I would kill them but I thought they would have a better chance to grow new pitchers with someone that raises this type of plant.

loosing Pitchers is normal.

You can grow these in low humidity just fine. 3 months may not be long enough for proper acclimation depending on there previous growing conditions.

You may be giving up to soon.

Keep the media moist watering every 2-4 days. Just not waterlogged and in bright light the plant will do the rest

Ignore the grow sheets they give me a headache

Thanks everyone for the information and encouragement... One of the plants has an old kind if worn out looking pitcher. Do I leave it or cut it off?

You can cut it off if you want
Cut it at the leafs tip.

Look for new growth.
It may take up to the 3-4th leaf to pitcher again but once it does you can consider it acclimated and it should resume normal growth from that point on

They should do well for you. Keep in mind, I have 3 neps all of which pitcher non stop during the summer, but being it winter here in north america, all old pitchers die of, and new ones start growing in spring. They are all grown on my windowsill with no extra humidity whatsoever. Like it was said above, unless the plant itself is doing badly, do not worry about pitchers just yet :D

I didn't have any takers in my trade offer so I put these plants in my greenhouse and now they have really had quite a vigorous growth. New pitchers are forming on each new leaf...still would consider a trade...
