Sun: Full sun, but grow reasonably well in partial shade.
Water: As with all carnivorous plants, Sarracenia do best with rain or distilled water or any water low in mineral content.
Soil: The standard carnivorous plant mix of 1 part peat to 1 part perlite works well for Sarracenia.
Hardiness: USDA hardiness zones 6-9. In colder areas, they can survive if mulched in winter.
Other tips: Sarracenia benefit from being repotted and given fresh soil every year or two in early spring (February to March) just before coming out of dormancy.
