Cephalotus is a beautiful and unique carnivorous pitcher plant from Australia, splashed with striking patterns, red accents, and some almost transparent areas in the hoods of the pitchers. A valued addition to any carnivorous plant collection.

Please be aware that young Cephlaotus are extremely small plants without mature pitchers. Young Cephalotus are usually between one-half inch (small clump) and two inches (XXL clump) in total diameter. Potted plants are shipped in our preferred potting medium of 50% peat and 50% 12-grit silica sand, topped with 12-grit silica sand. Sarracenia 'Leah Wilkerson' is a naturally occurring hybrid of S. leucophylla and S. flava worthy of a spot in every collection! With its tall and large pitchers, S. x 'Leah Wilkerson' was easily spotted when discovered by Brooks Garcia in 2002 on the Wilkerson bog in Walton County, Florida. Pitchers were recorded at over 50 inches tall and averaged around 36 inches on the wild growing specimen. It can reach those proportions in cultivation too with adequate space and good care! Decent vigor and easy to grow, the trick to getting all red traps is to keep nutrients in the soil low, keep the plant undisturbed/undivided for at least a full growing season, give the plant blasting full sun, and during the winter dormancy period up until spring, keep all old remaining leaves that are still alive ON the plant, don't chop them off! Any part of the leaf that is brown (typically, the tips of the old leaves) should be chopped off.
