Well, the US is a big place, but in my state (Washington, up in the northwest corner bordering on Canada), it's 48c (118F). However that was east of the mountains where the climate is more desert-like. In Seattle, on the west (Pacific Ocean) side, the highest recorded is 103F - 39.4C. But night temps are almost always below 70F(21C). This morning it was 58F (14C). Good place to grow Heliamphora and highland Nepenthes. ;-)

The hottest I've seen it in Phoenix was 124 F (51 C) but it's not always that hot, just during the middle of the year. At night it's usually around 102 F (In my opinion, that's one of the best times to go swimming 8-) No sun, but still hot outside soaking in a cool pool :) )

The highest I've been through here in Texas is 119F. We had 23 days in a row over 105F and 13 of those were over 110F.
