I noticed something growing next to my sarracenia, and I have no idea what it is. Is it some sort of weed? Could it be another hitchhiker? Everything from California carnivores tends to have a couple hitchhikers.

Yeah I wasn't talking about the Utricularia. And I think you are right. It's probably weird grass or a weed of some sort.

I got that in a pot of sphag I put out on my plant rack outside.

I don't remember exactly what it is, but I believe it's some sort of bog reed. It's definitely a weed and they grow very long roots and are difficult to remove at this size.

Agreed with all of the above pull it now. I usually can't get them fully out without a repot. And they come in California carnivores plants. Luckily they usually also come with a plethora of drosera as well which make up for the pesky grass
