I found this thing crawling around the base of one of my VFT pullings? Any ideas what it is?

I don't know. Did you use tweezers to pick it up? Is it still alive? I can't tell what it is. Looks like some worm thing.

wow nice, good find everybody. yes I did pick it up with the tweezers and I killed it immediately because I didnt want it crawling around with my VFT.

What do you suggest I should do? I havent seen any others.... but should I dig around to see if more are in there? Are they gunna multiply? Do I need to get pesticide? re-pot plants? Stick the plants in a air tight chamber that is filled with only filtered air and you need to go through a sterile air lock to get in? Thats a little excesive, but really, any suggestions?

They really pose no danger to your plants. As long as you can deal with the little gnats that they grow into (that incidentally make excellent food for your sundews), you really don't need to take any action.

If you do want to get rid of them, you can buy mosquito dunks that are used to kill mosquito larvae and that will also kill the fungus gnat larvae. Just put a small part of a mosquito dunk into your plant's water tray and within one life cycle of the gnats (about 3 weeks), they'll be gone.
