Love the idea!

I saved some old fashioned paper pulp egg cartons for the same purpose. This Spring I will try to use them as biodegradeable seed-starter pots, like Peat Pots. I plan on using expendable seed like capensis, burmannii, aliciae, or something of that ilk.

I know someone who started all their outdoor garden seeds in paper egg cartons. They take a bit longer to break down, so it's a good idea to poke holes in them before putting them in the ground, but they absolutely work. I suppose with CPs there might be the concern that they have some sort of weird minerals in them, so you'll probably want to use un-bleached ones, but it should work.

As fishkeeper suggests, I know that over here in the UK some companies put anti fungal and other chemicals in the cardboard to guard against various nasties, so it might be worth a check.

Pretty early to be waking up :?. Have they been outdoors? I wonder if they can go back to sleep now that it's getting a little cold again.
