Im just wondering if someone had the same thing on there venus fly trap ?
I find it rather funny to see if they will work if they open up

That happens every now and then, usually due to a small amount of damage or something else going wrong while the leaf is developing.

Now, I notice that the trap above it also looks a bit strange. If your plant consistently puts out occasional double traps all year, you may have a mutated plant. Keep an eye on that, see if it keeps putting out weird-looking traps.

Update on the double trap fly trap.

The double traps work but it is not a mutated fly trap
:(
But it made alot of new growt so maby someday we will have double fly traps

I noticed a weird one on one of my plants the other day.

Last year I also had this (Sawtooth?) have a trap itself split into sort of a heart shape. Somehow I never thought to trigger it and see what happens.

love the heart shape. very tricky fly trap. lol I'm sure it works.

My double is from a Megatraps also.

A couple of mine. One leaf split and made two leaves with traps and one has two traps fused on one leaf. Both from the same plant.
