Hello, I have Chilean LFS that looks like "marmalade" it's fine and most don't have that long fibers anymore. It become fine because it was previously used in a pot, I also washed it several times, so I suppose the wearing and multiple handling made the LFS look like that. My question is, can I use that LFS to germinate sundew seeds on? then later when the seedlings are big enough to move them to a pot with brand new LFS from the package that has the long fibers?

Maybe that can help drosera seeds stay mantain on the surface. But is it to wet anyway?

I just wanted you to see how fine it is. It's in the soaking state, but I'll remove it from the rain water and put it in pots, then seeds on it.

They should do fine on that. I strip all the leaves off the stems of the sphagnum by hand before I put seeds to germinate on it. Check out the pics here I posted. http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/d-cap ... 32926.html I would keep a close eye for algae though since it's been previously used.
