No way! How did you pull yourself away from those Sarrs long enough to take some photos of flytraps ;)

That red VFT looks great! It's so dark red, I think you should call it "Black Traps" :D

Hahaha! I would but someone used it already! Then some idiot from KY nicknamed a plant the same thing so its kind of played out.

Wow Dionae! I'm in awe of your threads!! Your Sarracenias... unbelievable. And the red flytrap? That red flytrap is truly stunning. Rather than naming it 'Black Traps' how about 'Midnight'? Awesome plants Dionae!!!

I agree with ironjaws! Midnight is a perfect name for that, you have some extremely nice plants! Soon, soon I will be able to submit picture here! ;)

Got a couple of strikes on some of my red VFTs and some Crimson Sawtooths. Probably be a while before I have plants but at least I have some action 8-) .

Nice plants!

I just recently sowed some of my fly trap seeds and they have started germinating within about 2-3 weeks! I am very excited to see what they will turn out like! I also bought 4 seed packets of Sars and will start cold strat once I receive them in the mail! What has happened to me? I am now hooked on these plants and I just can't seem to get enough of them! I just wish that the vft's grew faster at the moment! I don't want to wait 3-4 years for them to be mature! I could always buy them but the import permits are very expensive here in Canada & none of the other vendors had the cultivar I was looking for. Speaking of Sarrs, how long will it take for them to mature from seed? These baby's have just created a CP monster!

Hi Johnathan. It can take sarrs anywhere from 4-6 years to mature from seed. There are ways you can speed up the process though. Just browse through my gone sarracenia crazy thread.

For Matt....I havent given up on VFTs:D. Especially not seed growns. These are even on peat/perlite!

Good to hear you've not abandoned VFTs!

I'm actually thinking about getting my collection back. The VFTs seem much more happy in the GH than just out in the elements. I'm not concerned about losing one plant this year which is usually the case this time of year. All of my VFTs look dormant but happy.

Yeah, VFTs do remarkably well in a greenhouse setting. Far better than outside exposed to the elements.

You probably won't have to pay a cent for the plants. With all the sarrs you've got it would be easy to trade. How many seed growns do you have in that tray?
