Hello,

I moved my entire collection from Portland, Oregon to Baldwin county, Alabama this year. The recent hurricane emphasized how precarious my collection is now. So, I decided to take a few pictures.

Great looking plants Mike! I'm glad to see you joined here. I saw your posts on another forum and was going to ask you some questions about your growing setup:
1) What is your preferred soil mix?
2) What do you feed (fertilize) your plants?
3) Where do you grow them?

Hi Matt

1. 2 parts perlite: 1 part peat moss.
2. 1/2 teaspoon of epiphyte's delight/gallon or 1/4 strength 30-10-10 orchid fertilizer as a foliar feed biweekly all year round. If your plants are big but not flowering, try the epiphyte's delight. Add a few drops of superthrive if you've got it, but don't go buy it if you don't. I tend to prefer epiphyte's delight over 30-10-10, since that was what finally got my plants to start flowering.
3. Always in sealed terraria or flats with humidity domes. Ventilation has never seemed to be important (though it can't hurt.) Keep the lights as close as possible unless you're using halides or something. Keep the plants cool!
4. Patience. There is no other secret for turning tiny imported plants into adults. It takes forever no matter what you do.
