Seedling Rot

So I have started several sarracenia and drosera seedlings in seed stating kits where you leave the plastic lid on. Most seem to love the extra humidity, but I noticed a couple of the sarracenia seedlings rotted at the rhizome. Is it best to harden them off soon after germination? Does anyone leave the lid on or partially off for air circulation. I'm assuming leaving a lid on is great for humidity, but that you would still need some form of air circulation by leaving it partially open.

Opening it up every couple days will help to "refresh" the air inside the dome. Also you could just poke holes in the lid.
