Could this mean mites?

My red dragon has made a couple deformed traps however mine were all recently repotted. I haven't seen any pests on my plants but it's harder when they are so dark.
Anyway, I attribute mine to repotting as they take it a bit harder. Have you repotted recently?

Did you move it into direct sun without acclimating it first? The traps look like they got cooked by something. Or did it get sprayed with some type of chemical? Can you dig up a good magnifying glass and look for bugs or pests?

Just a thought, my two cents worth.

Good growing,
Mike

If it's none of the above, it could just be the new spring growth as a few deformed traps are normal at this time.

That's good to know as it hasn't been repotted and has been in that spot for several months so I was a little concerned.

How hot has your area been recently? My Maroon Monster is the first to start showing signs of heat stress by throwing up deformed traps.

My red dragon is also producing some awful looking traps as it comes out of dormancy. It is also starting to produce a flower so I think it's just how this cultivar operates in the spring.
