For me and my family, I'd recommend Canon, or if you really want to be fancy and rich like here, go get a Sony Camera.. it looks so professional!!! Ermm... Ah Hem... anyways.. again this is only my opinion. You don't have to like... obey it or something. XDD

Dame everything's like touchscreen now day's.. too advance for a simple Rez boy like me lol Jk. Mostly everything I have has a touchscreen. Waiting in line at IHS ("Indian Health Service" Aka Hospital Native style) and I'm on my HP Touchsmart it's funny those Navajo act like they never seen a touchscreen Laptop before Lol. Like a little fat Navajo boy looking at a huge stack of Fry Bread!

I'm not goint to say what brand 'cause it really doesn't matter. You can't really just call out a brand you think is good, you have to say what number or name it is too, if you're going to recommend something. And, I don't even know what the name of my camera is, LOL! Yeah that was random, but my point was, it doesn't really help if you just call out a name of some electronic brand mumbo jumbo.
