After being interested in orchids for a long time, I decided to finally get a couple from Lowes for my birthday in August. There wasn't much of a selection, but I picked out the two I liked best. Below are a couple of snapshots of the blooms.

I've pollinated the lavender one and I hope to practice my orchid seed flasking skills when the pod ripens in a month or so.

They might look a bit pink in the photos, but one is a light purple and the other is a whitish purple.

But I do LOVE pink

They are pretty though.

Are they both the same thing? The look like the same type of orchids but one had lighter colour.

I don't know what their parentage is, but they're both Phalaenopsis orchids. That's all I really know. They're probably so hybridized that parentage would be hard to figure out.
