A lot of times when you buy bags of seeds for bird feeders they have sunflower seeds in them. Maybe a neighbor has some and a bird or squirrel dropped it in your pot accidentally.

I don't eat sunflower seeds and don't have a bird feeder because i have a small yard and they attract mice/rats. must have gotten it from a neighbor.... which means a squirrel was probably close to my traps. i haven't been keeping my plants in their cage lately, lucky they didnt get eaten.
