I just got this VFT two days ago from Lowes. I put it outdoor for the whole time, and water it with bottled water everyday. I live in Bay Area California. I fed it tiny ants, the trap closed, but after 10 hours, it just open again. Are my trap healthy? And I heard dormancy is coming, should I transplant it into a terrainium during dormancy? Thank you

If you're manually feeding your trap killed insects, you'll need to very gently squeeze the trap together for a few minutes to stimulate the trigger hairs. A VFT needs to feel the insect it's caught struggling inside it or it will assume it escaped and will not start digestion. As yours opened the next day, it's pretty clear it has not. Oh, and NO terrariums.
