Looks great! I love the moss... mine just has a layer of algae on the top of the substrate. It's a bit bigger though. What conditions do you keep it in? Some people say that it needs highland temps but I'm growing it fine in ambient humidity with household temps--aka no big temp drop at night, pretty hot all summer long. It's doing great. What's worked for you?

I don't treat it as highland either. I keep it on my indoor grow rack in household temps.68-74F. I do keep it covered with a humidity dome and uncover a couple times a day for fresh air. It's under a single 18watt LED bulb. Got any pics of yours?

Highland temps? I stuck mine in the hottest room of my house! oops. It's been growing great all summer though, even better than my spatulatas. My light just isn't strong enough for that deep red look.

As you can see, it's not immune to the heat--I'm actually glad that I have three plants, because I can test out stuff (varying foods, etc) on the small one and the problematic one doesn't cause me too much worry (although it would be great if I could figure out what was happening--it's been like that for ages).

I actually have a Drosera latifolia too in the same conditions that is chugging along, although it definitely looked better in the winter.

I actually don't like the completely red look on these, or most sundews for that matter. I like to see at least a little green on them.

When I say this about Pinguicula, people think I'm crazy!

I personally think that full red is the most stunning (on some plants), but I love the look of deep red tentacles against a reddish-green leaf. In several plants, like venus flytraps, sarracenia, and a few sundew species, I prefer this red-but-not-all-red look. I really just think all carnivorous plants are beautiful... that's why I'm on this forum, right? :)

I couldn't agree with you guys more. I have LED's I run in the winter and I keep my plants at the far end of their effectiveness range. I think at this point in the game we're a dying breed unfortunatelyImage

There are a few Pings that are the exception, I must say, but my preference for green is why I prefer P. heterophylla over P. gypsicola. Although, I do prefer red Drosera to green Drosera, though it's best when they have a color gradient from green to red, like on D. camporupestris.
