I agree. I ordered 1 plant from him and 3 showed up. He was very easy to deal with and the plants look great. You've seen the leuco I was considering. I think I may get it as a Christmas gift for me. http://sarracenia.proboards.com/thread/ ... washington

Oh yeah, that one is gorgeous! I think I may have got that plant in my birthday order, but I can't remember. Lol. Yeah, he is pretty generous too! If he knows your preferences, he'll send you better freebies then what you order.

Thanks!

Not only generous, Mike has become one of my "go to" guys because he's so knowledgeable about these plants.

Thank you kind sir for being so generous as to donate this plant to me. I love it! It's far surpassed my expectations.

At least 26 flower buds so far.

Oh thanks for the reminder, I need to snip off some old scapes on a clump of capensis at the back of a tray, or I'm going to have it coming up in everything! (At this point it'll probably be more a matter of weeding anyway...) ;-)

Everybody needs a forest of Capensis! One of my personal favorite drosera.

That Sarr as you can see gets much more red with hints of burgundy in it as the pitcher ages. Hopefully next year since it'll have a full growing season I'll get to see why they call it burgundy.

To add to the thread, I was treated to this new flower Wednesday when I got home from work. This plant made an appearance as a tag along with a plant that a very generous forum member here sent me. Thanks buddy!

I may have to edit this a couple times, since I'm trying to figure out this new account. So, I apologize ahead of time.

Nice - capensis is a plant pest here in NZ, we have to call the plant cops if we see it in the wild and are not allowed to trade seeds by law. Funny eh? We have tons of binata though I have a million which are like weeds, same with spatulatA.

Okay, for those who didn't see the story here it is. As I was playing with drosera flowers yesterday I thought I seen something move out of the corner of my eye. I look over only to find this girl staring at me.

A grey tree frog, I now know this thanks to a friend who's an amphibian/reptile lover. Thank you Adelaide! Anyways, I got to looking in my trays and low and behold I seen why mama was sitting there just watching me contently. She found herself a free nursery.

They are pretty hard to see but in the upper right hand corner you can see a few tadpoles in there. Come to find out they are in at least three of my trays now. I guess I'll be making sure I have plenty of water on hand.

That's awesome. I used to have one that I kept in my snake terrarium. One day he went missing and I just figured he got ate. Well 9 months later I was moving a rock in the tank and lo and behold there he was hibernating. He covered himself in some kind of mucus sack and had been there the whole time. They are cool little frogs. They are all over outside on my house at night. Keep us updated on how the little ones do.

That's a long nap! I could use one of those myself. Pretty cool info too. I wouldn't think they could hibernate that long. This is the first one I think I've ever seen around here, after seeing her markings I can see why I never see them. Great camouflage.

Will do buddy! I was thinking about putting them in a separate tray of their own since my drain holes in the fly trap tray are placed pretty low, and I like to let my trays dry up before I water. No reason they should become helpless victims if I forget to water one day either.
