So back when I was active on this forum, I kept a thread where I would regularly take pictures of my plants and their progress so now that im back in the hobby i thought I'd make a new thread :D enjoy! P.s. Does anyone know if N. distillatoria and N. rafflesiana have ever been crossed before? I've looked through the internet and found nothing.

Sorry for the wait but here it is! Two additions turned into four XD I got myself a heliamphora heterodoxa 'Grand sabana', a nepenthes northiana, an utricularia longifolia and finally I got a pretty nice gift from the grower I bought the heli from. He didnt have enough space in his terrariums so he gave me a nepenthes jamban with the condition that I give him a cutting in the future :) its a little shaken up but im pretty sure it'll pull through!

Nearly all my nepenthes are outdoors in my shadehouse which means they get sun all day long. They get full sun during the morning hours and only get slight protection throughout the rest of the day. Keep in mind the humidity is very high here in Puerto rico and is probably the reason they can handle so much sun and even then they all have a few sun burnt spots but well worth it!

Temps here are just a tad too warm during the day so I can just put the grow chamber in a cool spot of the house and temps will be ok during the day so I just place those two packs before going to sleep and freeze them again in the morning or leave them around until like mid day if im around. Be aware that lowering temperatures like this also lowers the humidity drastically. To solve this, I flooded the bottom of the tank and put two layers of egg crate on top so the pots wont be in contact with the water. The packs lower the temperatures to about 63-61f for most of the night and usually isnt over 64f when I wake up. Ive timed how long they last and they manage to keep the temperatures below 75 for about 10 hours and that spot of the house never really goes over 82f. I cant say for sure this will work long term as I just got these plants a few days ago but it is what a grower here does and he does have some highlanders like lowii and hamata and alot of helis doing very well for him this way. I'll keep you guys updated!

Thank that's very informative. I currently use one pack to give my d. regia a slight nighttime temperature drop. I believe my climate is similar to yours.

Well heres another update on my collection, alot has happened since I last posted. I was really unable to post for a couple of months following hurricane Maria due to obvious reasons. As I was without power for about three months and without a shadehouse until about a month ago some of my plants really suffered and a few died. plants in the highland terrarium didnt really make it as I was not able to maintain conditions without power. N. Distillatoria really suffered from intense sunlight due to lack of attention and my shade house being blown away. During the hurricane all plants were brought either indoors or in a closed of garage so no casualties resulted directly from the strong winds. Now almost a year after most of my plants are doing rather well and I even have a few new additions and suprises from the oldies such as a flower from my N.truncata.
