Might be Algae spores but no danger, I think.

If you want to be safe, use this water on some expendable CP, capensis or something of that ilk. Give it a month. If nothing bad happens, it should be safe.

Good growing,
Mike

I use rainwater from my roof and I don't have any problems with it. Like Mike said you will probably get some algae. My indoor water trays have it growing all in the tray but it doesn't seem to spread to the pots. And my TDS is usually 5 or 6.

No problem at all, I've been using it for 10 years here. Same TDS, usually 2.

I use roof water but I always let it rain a while before I go out and fill the jugs especially if it hasn't rained recently. You want to make sure the asphalt oil from your shingles, bird droppings, leaves, seeds, etc. get flushed off the roof and out of the gutters and downspouts first before you collect your water.
