So I bought this from petflytrap and it was labeled "Leucophylla Compacta". However I'm no expert in Sarrs, but this doesn't really look like a LeucophyllaImage
Any ideas on what it could be? Ever since I moved it to my "Makeshift shelves" (Made them out of wooden rulers and foam board) next to my window, it started growing this huge pitcher and today it finally opened up.

Any help guys?

That is a leucophylla probably it does not look like because the plant is still young and that the spring growth, look here is an example on a mature plant Image Same species, but in the summer it will have the famous white top trumpet pitchers .

Thats what I was thinking too, thats the only other sarr that I've ever owned, and it does kind of resemble it.

Well the website said that this specific plant shows the characteristics besides being so small, and that it doesn't grow to large. Here's a link:
http://www.petflytrap.com/Sarracenia-le ... _1350.html

Here's the description I was talking about:
"For those who like the look of Sarracenia leucophylla but don't have room for a tall plant, this one's for you! Much shorter pitchers (up to a foot tall), with the same great characteristics!"

Definitely NOT a leucophylla, but some form of purpurea hybrid, which may or may not have leucophylla in it. Flowers and more light may help with an approximate I.d.
Either the label is misplaced or the nursery don't know Sarracenia.

On wellsprings' ebay store, they also have a S. leucophylla 'compacta', so its not just limited to one nursery. Like others have said, it does look like it has purp in it, maybe it also has leucophylla in it too and the adult pitchers will also have the "windows" near the top of the pitcher. Thats probably what made them mistake it as a leuco.

So should I email the company, and ask them about this whether they mislabeled it or if it's supposed to look like this?

Wellspring described it as a variation of purp, despite what the name suggests. From the little reading I did on it, no one has grown it to maturity yet. So nobody really knows what it will look like as an adult.

Stilll definitely not a leucophylla, the label looks like the name 'Compacta' is in single quotation marks indicating a cultivar, which it also is not. All in all the label should be ignored apart from the word Sarracenia.

You have the plant that is listed as a "S.Leucophylla 'compacta' ".

The issue here is the name appears to be a misrepresentation. If you read the description in the link it says it's "a variation of purpurea, despite what the name suggests." Also it's not a cultivar, but it's listed on the websites as one.
