tish wrote:Thanks! Well, some plants grows, some dies, so there is a turn round. VFT dont really do well here in singapore. Heat and too wet kills them.

The seeds from FTC is good. I hope you have fun growing :)
Woah and i thought vft are those plant that can stand scorching heat! Well i hope to be able to take care of them successfully then maybe thinking of getting a cephalotus.

Btw i read on your post that you joined a local forum as well, which is that?

VFTs do like heat, but not year-round. For a couple of growing seasons the plants do okay, but they decline because of a lack of dormancy.

Try placing them in the fridge, tish have you tried this yet? I'm sure good ventilation would help as well, but I don't really know what it's like for you over there in Singapore.

Hi katya, so they do like heat! I think i read somewhere what kills them could be the heat trapped in the soil burned their root.

I'm experimenting the fridge dormancy now here from the tiny island of Singapore here too :)

I bought plenty of Tuberous Sundew seeds a few months back. I guess this is the right time to prepare the seeds and sow them since it's the time where tuberous sundew germinates and tuber awakes.

Some of the seeds require a summer condition before they germinates, I found the process of Scarification from a few links.

Dieter's Webpage
GrowSundew.com

I first soak the seeds in GA3 (Gibberellic Acid-3) for 1 night before I prepare the burnt leaves process and soak the seeds in this solution using 60ºC and below water for 2-3 mins. Then, I sow the seeds in 2 part sand and 1 part peat.
