Oh no, sorry to hear that you lost them both. Hopefully the next round of seeds grow will produce some nice plants :).

How did they get to this size after only 9 months?
What do you feed them?
Thanks, YaronR!

Like katya_dog1 mentioned, I feed them bloodworms. Specifically, Omega One freeze dried bloodworms, though I don't think brand really matters. I followed the guide in the following link, with the exception of feeding more traps when they got larger. http://www.carnivorousplants.org/howto/ ... DBWSBS.php

Thanks! It is certainly worth the time feeding them to get them to this size and health in a relatively short period of time.

Update:

A little over a week ago I moved the seedlings outside and got them acclimated to full sun. It is still amazing to see how far they have come in a relatively short timeframe. I had a small amount of spider mites on one plant that came out of nowhere indoors, but got them taken care of well before they became a problem. Other than some damage to one trap, the plant seems unaffected.

Also, earlier today I sowed 260+ seeds that I bought from sam1greentmb again on eBay, seeing as I got some nice plants from the seeds I started last year. So, I may document their growth from time to time as well and see if I can recreate similar growth rates. Anyway, here are the photos of the isolated seedlings that were moved outdoors. Since I cannot remember if I mentioned this, they are in 4" square pots for a size reference.

Largest trap measures at 1 3/16" at roughly 1 year old.

The largest trap on this one measures at 1 1/4", also roughly 1 year old.
