I downsized my collection a hell-of-a-lot around the winter of 2013 to focus more on breeding Phasmids (Stick Insects) and Mantids and therefore haven't been on the forums as much...

However, I felt that my clump of Darlingtonia, a few Sarrs and Pings I kept back were not enough and decided to buy another Ceph from Matthew (Hampshire Carnivorous Plants) on 22nd Jan 2015. It has lost quite a few pitchers since then due to shock but it has started to send out a bunch of new leaves and mature pitchers. :)

Yup. :)

I have no idea how Matt. S grow his cephs that go for sale but it says "Ideal for a frost free greenhouse/conservatory" so I'm assuming that he grows them himself in an unheated greenhouse. If that's the case, I think the temperatures in unheated ones can dip down to 2C in winter here.

I have it indoor under lights now and the temperature is around 17-19C at the moment. I'm not sure if my lights are strong enough for the new pitchers and leaves to get a red colouration like that again though.

Cold temps, bright light and how under/over fed will have an effect of ceph coloration for sure
