i especially like how nice your traps red/green contrast is with those tiny traps
I completely agree, plus it is neat and rewarding to see something progress from a seed to a mature plant despite it taking years to do so :).

It's totally unlike all other plants that take years to grow i think, fruit trees, only really rewarding once they produce, bulb flowers, all look the same until they are capable of flowering, fly traps are awesome once a trap or two comes in

Some of the ebay seeds that were sown on 10/03/14 have started to germinate. The first one I found was 10/11/14, and today there is some others that have started. There is still a lot of other seeds left to germinate, but I'm sure I will see more germinating over time. Even the first seeds I planted from the FTS still have some that are randomly germinating roughly six weeks after planting.

Seed from 10/11 under the microscope at a total magnification of 40X. It is not the best picture, but it is still neat to have caught it just as it was starting to germinate.

The same seed from today (I already removed the other seedling in the picture along with a couple others).

You must have an amazing macro lol, oh also, I'd pull out those grasses, they get huge root systems that can choke your seedling out

Thanks! It's too bad that I cannot get a closer shot, but it works nicely for being able to observe the growth over time.

Nope, no macro lens, just macro mode on my old point-and-shoot camera. Though I wish I could get a nice macro lens for my other camera for photos like this. The grasses were pulled right after I took the photo. At some point I want to grow one of them out in its own pot for fun. Might as well do something with them since they keep popping up randomly :).

I'm happy that I did since I missed it with the first group of seeds. Now if I could just get highly detailed macro shots of them like you do :D.

So far I have spotted 17 seedlings that have cotyledons emerging in my new set of seeds. There are many others that appear to have began germinating, so I am pleased with the growth I am getting from those so far. The FTS seedlings are progressing well also. The ones that are still in the germination container are not nearly as vigorous as the ones I moved to the new container. I'm sure they'll catch up at some point though. I'm just enjoying watching these little plants progress :D. Here are random photos of the transplanted seedlings. I apologize again for the difference again in the white balance.

This one seems to catch the most tiny insects compared to the others.

This one started out with the fewest number of traps when I transplanted it, but it now has the most out of all of them at eight fully formed traps with one forming that I can see. The traps are still smaller than all of the others though.

The seedlings grown from FTS seed are starting to grow slightly larger traps. The ebay seedlings are still germinating, but I am over 20 seedlings with at least one trap. They are no longer covered to keep humidity up, and they were moved closer to the light. The first three photos below are the FTS seed grown plants followed by the ebay seedlings.

These are photos of the isolated VFT's from the FTS, and the smaller ones are the eBay seedlings that I recently isolated. I am happy to have a couple red seedlings as well. Of course the grasses keep coming up. It seems to be a never ending battle, but I still prefer growing these in dried LFSM.
