i will admit i was growing it in high humidity although this species doesn't need much maybe put a dome on it to get it established for a few months?

Did you get those from Dionae? And that picture of D. capensis is all red.

no I got them from ebay 4 10 sets seeds and when I repot it, looks like a typical capensis now.
