This is my last stalk of this season I guess that I was ready to cut off, with the most impressive display of false vivipary out of the three plants that I've been posting pictures of.

Yeah I hope they make it! The offshoots that are 3 weeks old still haven't developed any roots, or anything that would even resemble roots forming..so dunno what to do about it. I'm keeping them well hydrated (aka soaked sopping in lfsm) and only in indirect sunlight. Although the traps have gone black, the leaves are still green so that's a plus.

Btw, if anyone is interested I have one more of the original plants that produced this mutation that I'm willing to make a trade on, only trades (I hope my advertisement is ok Matt, sorry if it's not, I don't know).

I had eight identical plants with stalks, and three of them came out with false viv, so it doesn't seem to be a stable genetic trait, perhaps it only happened because of my climate and the emerging spring growth. But maybe there's more to it and it can be cultivated enough to produce false viv every time? I don't know, but if anyone wants to try then the offer stands

What is false vivipary? Is there anything specific that causes it? I have had something like that on an aquarium plant, and wondered what it was.

I might take you up on that trade... I've got a couple things ready for trading. 'Grun' 'Maroon Monster' maybe I can find a 'Jaws' and if your in to Sarracenia I've got a nice division of 'Dana's Delight'.

I guess : Rhizome put out roots, so plant the plant with rhizome part into soil should be able to encourage roots. Another way to encourage roots on the rhizome is probably a breaking or cut, using a pen knife to make a very tiny cut on the rhizome might encourage roots. Your plant also look like there is at least 2 diversion, I would break them in their own crown and plant them in soil.

I have no experience on this and had never done this before. These are all my suggestions with no grounds :)
