Hi! My friends jst gave me an orchid an I was wondering if it was an anual or nonanual?
Also, when do they bloom.

First, tell us the name of the plant or provide a picture.

I would but my camera hasn't been working for awhile but it's one of those regular orchids you find
at the florist section at grocery stores and super markets.

Also, It's the kind of orchid that you'd find at lowes and home depot and whose roots stick out of the pot it's in.

The ones that look like that?

If so, your orchid is a Phalaenopsis which is one of my most easy and the most beautiful of the orchids (in my opinion). It's a perennial and it blooms every winter.

You mean the flowers? It's still the same thing.

Oh lord, I already said that in the post with the picture. You should also visit those sites.

Oh sorry, I didn't read your post all the way through. Also, thanks for all theinfo but do you know how to pollinate these things? I have know clue where the pollin is.

I wouldn't recommend growing from seed, too much work. :I

i know how to pollinate orchid BUT that flower dies or it can kill a plant

i say damn the research, full speed ahead!

but seriously dude, if you start a thread, you should really read whole posts before replying, since its, you know, the information you are trying to get. we all ask questions that are readily answered by the search engine, but we try not to ask them twice in one thread. haha.

welcome though. i havent been here long, but the community of this forum is amazing. just post pictures of your plant. if theres anything wrong with it, someone will *likely* point it out to you. you can get a $12 prepaid camera phone at walmart if your strapped
