I was always a bit nervous to attempt to keep petiolaris sundews, but I've found it to be much easier that I thought it would be. I was surprised these (falconeri, ordensis, & petiolaris) survived being shipped in December (bareroot, no heat pack, lows in the 20's) as some sources said they would die if exposed to temps under 50F. The ordensis seems to just be emerging from a dormancy, or "pseudo dormancy".
They seem to be putting out a new burst of growth along with some flowers. I read that the falconeri do not self-pollinate (bummer), but since the other ones seem to be making flowers I might try to hybridize them. I've never done a sundew cross pollination since I'm rarely able to catch a flower while it's open. As you can see the falconeri is not very pink, but is surviving under my "shop lights" so I might just leave it and wait to buy some LED's in a few months.
