Today I watched Flaming Lips catch this wasp. Look at him trying to sting anything he can reach while attempting to wriggle out. He did eventually succeed. Luckily I had gone inside by then because I'm sure he was pissed off. https://youtu.be/Q9UpQynm8SY

This is my typical cape sundew purchased from FTS last winter. This is flower stalk #7 or 8 of the year - I lost count. I hadn't seen two flowers on the same stalk bloom simultaneously before.

D admirabilis just now flowering. I had no idea how much these sundews would grow in a year and it definitely needs to be repotted soon. I knowa dark glass pot is not ideal, but they didn't seem to mind.

Below are some of my babies, which are kept in a southern facing windowsill, almost all under humidity domes. As always, I'd love feedback if you see anything wrong with the plants/conditions. I really want them to survive. All the seedlings look amazing so far, and I'm so excited to see how they develop! I sowed all the seeds months ago, but some have just recently sprouted. I don't have a macro lens but these were taken with a good camera.

Below two are from the special red mix FTS dionaea seed. (http://www.flytrapcare.com/store/carniv ... d-seed-mix)

Some of the few cape sundew babies that have so far survived the slime mold.

The Maroon Monster flower stalk strikes, closer up with the good camera. Can anyone tell me when it would be safe to divide them? I have friends waiting for them but I'm afraid I'd kill some or all if I tampered with them now. I believe there are still new babies coming up.

Thanks. I learned a lot this past year about caring for CPs. Lots of trial and error, and lots of help from people here. My biggest challenge is finding a spot that gets full sun year round and is not hit by the sprinklers. And those damn fungus gnats. But that just provides an excuse to buy some pings. ;)

WOW. I have never before seen a Nep in person until I visited this nursery close to my parents' house in FL. SO BEAUTIFUL. I wish I could grow these outdoors in Colorado, but I know they would never produce pitchers in such low humidity. So, this is not my plant, but I'm absolutely smitten.

All you south Floridians, you may want to check out Flamingo Road Nursery for these Neps, some not unhealthy looking typical VFTs, and a few small Sarracenia. $35 for a Nep this size seemed like a deal to me, but really I don't know anything about them other than I can't grow them.

Got some new additions today and I'm so excited! I was lucky enough to score two pots of baby flytraps and I also added Trichterfalle x Coquillage to my collection. Look at these beauties! I can't believe or even start to count the number of babies in the pots, suffice it to say there a tons. My first typicals - and what an awesome variety! Thank you, Matt and Leah! Plant mail is THE BEST!

Also must add this package evidently took an especially nasty beating from USPS as one pot was destroyed. Never happened to me before in my dozens of orders. Still the plants themselves in fantastic shape, as you can see - a testament to the great packing job. Thankfully it's not on one of the babies as those look like they were ridiculously difficult to pot. I could not be happier with my new additions!

Far out! I'm going to be ordering for the first time in the next month or so. Super psyched! I had my eye on Tricherfalle x Coquillage. Looking good. Nice array of babies too! Proud new mama feeling. Haha

Getting a package from FlytrapStore is one of my favorite things ever now. It is the most addictive part of this addicting hobby! You're in trouble, Mawy!

I'd wanted Trichterfalle x Coquillage for a while. Between the teeth that can be longer than Phalanx, the cresting than can surpass Schuppenstiel, and the occasional cupped trap of Trichterfalle, it seems like an awesome variety at a bargain price. I'm very happy with it.

Receiving anything related to CPs gets me pumped! I recieved some pots last week and all I want to do is fill them! Except I need to sow some seeds first. Lol. Seeing new plants for the first time is a wonderful feeling. <3

I'm a fan of the parent clones, pretty neat that they have traits similar to other cultivars. I always enjoy observing how genes play out and this hobby definitely fulfills that enjoyment. I don't even have flowering plants rn, thinking about what crosses I want to try when I do get the chance tho!

Wonder what it would be like if I got into CPs sooner...

As hard as it is for me to pick favorites, I must admit this little guy is the clear winner of all the new babies. The cool color combination on the petioles caught my eye at first, but upon closer inspection, I noticed the interesting crests/ridges on the petioles. What a beautiful and unique little plant! I certainly wasn't expecting anything like this. I thought I saw a few other cultivars that had similarly shaped petioles, but I couldn't seem to find any at the store when I last looked. Wonder what its parentage was. You can see the trait on at least 4 leaves in the picture.
