Hi,

I have my new N. Ceciliae on a heat mat
I'm treating it as a bit of a lowland where temp gets to a maximum of 31℃ and lows of 24℃.
It hasn't produced any liquid in the pitchers I'm starting to worry that those may not be the conditions.
I'm taking as a reference this guide that showed me it's characteristics.
It's near to a lowland species for me
Does anyone knows about this?
Thanks ImageImageImage

I guess I'll place it on my windowsill and test from there :/
In my windowsill temps tend to get to min 14℃ maybe that would accelerate the process in case it needs it cold.

Thanks for the recommendation we'll see if there's any liquid forming.

Sometimes my Nepenthes never make more fluid in the pitchers they were shipped with. They are usually fine and just adapting. I would say a bit cooler though. You can also put a little water (1/4 of the pitcher) to help it along. Sometimes they start making their own fluid after that, sometimes not.

I've never tried pouring water in the pitchers, somehow I'm afraid I may alter it's own liquid production but still I guess I'll try it anyway.

My new ampullaria x aristolochioides also formed some liquid by it's own.
(Arrived at the same time)
Also I wasn't supposed to transplant N. Bicalcarata but I did cause I saw roots coming from the bottom, it was sick and smell bad, now after a week of transplant, liquid started to form.

My N. Ceciliae it's the only one not producing it.

Thank you, I'll try with one pitcher

I’m not sure if my new ones would start producing fluid on their own. At the beginning they didn’t but I was growing on my windowsill then. If it doesn’t start making fluid the water just evaporates and usually pretty fast. If it does you can usually tell since pitcher fluid is a bit different from water. Just a tip that was given to me by a more experienced grower than I and I haven’t noticed any ill effects. I just do a tiny bit.

According to the guide you are referencing the max daytime high temp is 27c and max nighttime high is 16c. Try keeping the plant closer to these maximums (or better yet a few degrees below) and things may improve.
