N. Alata revival mission

I went to Home Depot looking for a tub for live sphagnum and saw a Nepenthes in terrible condition. So, I decided to take it home and take care of it. It is planted in a super dry bark of some sort and was sitting inside with basically no light at all. Each leaf had a dying pitcher trying to form. It is an alata so it ranges between intermediate and lowland, basically perfect for my warm humid temperatures where I live. Hopefully I can revive it!

Good luck ! I was able to save a ventricosa last year from home Depot so that was pretty cool.

I am not home right now, but I'll post a picture of it when I get back. I just repotted it into some LFS moss and orchid bark. The poor thing probably hasn't felt a drop of water or moisture of any kind in days. Also, leaves were breaking off on it.

It looks pretty healthy actually. A big plant too! Just FYI, it's most likely an "atala" from Home Depot is actually x ventrata.

Oh that's in ways better condition than I had imagined there's nothing even wrong with it its still a nice dark green some of the leaves are damaged but still completely ok, just give it proper growing conditions and it will start pitchering for you in no time at all

Oh, I thought it was in bad condition. I have seen much better Nepenthes at Home Depot, so I assumed it was in bad condition whoops. Also it being in media that is bone dry worried me. The roots were also wrapped in a paper towel, so I had to remove that.

Well I won't be igniting it anytime soon with a flame. I also got it 50% off for buying the plant because it was in "poor" shape. I will gladly take an $8 Nepenthes any day!
