So a few of my VFT's have begun going a little downhill I wasn't sure if it was due to it being August now and things perhaps slowing down however a very healthy plant had black on the leaf on a new trap yet to open which I felt was weird and this weird red/pink colour on the edges of the trap which a plant of mine which died to rot had,

So I reported it into fresh media and the rhizome looks perfectly healthy so I thought I'd wait and see however upon closer look I saw very small specs on the plant, which I could flick off so I believe it to be mites, on the traps and leaf, I've taken a picture to demonstrate the blackening,

I'm in the uk what miticide should I buy? And is it hard to use? (Like can it also damage the plant), my bohemian garnets have all been struggling as well recently which I suppose may also be mites, but with their dark red colour it's pretty hard to tell..

The plant looks fairly health to me and I don't see any typical signs of mite damage. Mites like hot and dry, not exactly your climate. It could be some other pest. Unless the damage gets worse, I wouldn't worry about it. A bit more light(if possible) would be beneficial.

You can see all the little things in one of these traps, also this other little black bug I've seen inside the traps,

I'm not sure about in the UK, but here in the US we have Bayer 3 in 1 that worked great for me when I had spider mites. Image

Yes I went to move one and it flicked away like 3 or 4cm I wasn't sure if that was due to their lightness but I guess they could of been jumping, also attached more high detail pictures.

Well now I'm not sure. The photos of the "bugs" on your hand have the shape of Springtails. Those are harmless and many people consider them beneficial. I was actually trying to catch some and move them into some indoor trays last night. They move fairly fast and sometimes jump.

I'm not sure what the bug on the trap is. It is on the nectar glands though.

It does look like the bugs might be causing damage to your plant, whatever they are. I would try to use a product like cjpflaumer suggested.

Kind of remind me of soil mites, yet they didn't jump

The non aerosol version doesnt kill red spider mites.
Ordered it hopefully it works, looking on the damaged VFT closer with a magnifying lens thing, lots of small red things on the leaves and outside traps, all over one of the new leaves about to open... hopefully this kills the bastards

Seeds received. Thanks Chef and donors!
