My indoor grow setup is still in a state of flux. When it's done, I will compare 300W MarsHydro LEDs, 75W Hgrope LEDs, and some 16W Daylight LED lights. I have T8s and T5s but I think I'm retiring them. LEDs run cooler and more efficient, I believe.

Good growing,
Mike

I'll start off by saying I have no experience personally with LED'S other than talking to Nauz, and reading posts here and some research. I do have 2 4 foot 4 bulb T8's and a 4 foot 4 bulb T5 HO. I'm quite happy with the performance of both types of lighting. I prefer the T5 though, after I figured out the best way for me to combat the heat from the fixture.

In my experience I think you need to take special consideration to your setup to determine which lights you want to use. If you need to place the light further from the plants. I would lean away from the T8.

Here's an interesting read I found one day comparing the different lighting.

Best of luck!

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm gonna end up retiring my T8s and upgrading to T5HO after going through posts and doing some research. I will however test out a Taotronic "supposed" 24W led full spectrum that I ended up getting for free from amazon
