Is my VFT okay?

I've recently visited my local garden center and was drawn in by their FT section, i ended up taking one home with me and started reading up how to look after these plants.

All appeared to be going well;

I think too much 'trying to feed it' and pruning dead traps, a change in method of watering as i researched more on the VFTs, and maybe the temperature and sunlight difference from being sat in the shop has stressed it too much, along with a repot as the medium seemed quite poor quality and clumpy. It does have a couple of new traps growing, but only few. I've been leaving it on the windowsill in a dish of water, and the new growing leafs/traps appear to have a red tinge. Any advice?

I recently bought another one hoping my better knowhow of how to look after these will keep it healthy.

This one has smaller leafs as was darker green than all the others in the shop, also the traps are reddish.

Currently spring where i live, in the UK. Temperatures on my windowsill vary from 10-25 degrees from day and night. Not too sure about humidity, but all three flytraps are kept in a small amount of water under the pot.
